pix

4-5 days in Italy was good. I went to see so many historical places and gained Italian experiences. Walking around for hours might be not appealing but at the end of the day, it was worth it.

Now I am in London, going to stay here for twelve days. The rest of my easter break will be spent in Scotland.

I don’t really have many things to say now. I could talk more about the trip but... I am just too tired and I don't feel like sharing it. ;) Let pictures do the talking.

Can't escape

life is full of hypocrisis and lies.

life perhaps can be sweet but the sweetness may develop from the lies we know or don't know about.

life is full of different types of people. From people who are so smart to people who don't have any shelter.

It confuses me to walk down high streets looking at the designer shops, and there will be people outside who don't have any shelter and no shame to ask money from the people. The people inside looking at the shirts and go, 'Holy shit. it only costs 100 pounds! so bloody cheap.' while the people outside have nothing at all.

Whose fault is that? The country's hypocrisy of providing everyone what they need (i.e. job) or the homeless people's fault who are just too lazy to work?

With their sorrow and melancholy state, my heart sadden yet my mind tells me not to trust anyone... who knows behind these sorrow faces were just lazy people who don't want to work and just earn their livings from begging?

life is just full of lies. and it hurts to be honest, to be deceived. and strangers who use emotions and psychological tactic..to get what they want.

sad.. but this is life.

Appreciation

Remember my post about appreciating every little things in life? Well, this is another one. I am reminiscing the past and what I did when I was just a kid. And I remember reading this compilation of Majalah Mekar that was quite old and in those magazines, I found articles about UK. Basically stories about the author in London. And they were quite informative, describing the places and also include pictures, and also the history of some parts of London. And secretly hoping that one day, I would be able to walk around in this city.

For example, I remember the article on Trafalgar Square, how it used to be a battle and there were many birds around and there would be this big Chrismas tree every year..

Now it struck me shouldn't we try to know and learn about the places that we live? Sometimes I get a bit annoyed with expatriat teachers in Brunei having lived there for many years but have no interest at all to learn Malay language and its culture. Obviously I have been living in Brunei for almost all my life and that I went to Bruneian schools exposed to its history and all. And now I am betting international students who go to UK probably don't really know much of its (UK) history? Am I right? or wrong?

I don't know.. It is not important to know what the Marble Arch was for, or when was the London Eye built. I mean, I would understand if you say, 'who cares anyway?' When I first came here, I could not really care why there were guards changing in front of the Buckingham Palace would be so interesting to so many people.

But now, I feel that learning its history, or at least what it was famous for, would probably make us appreciate more of the places that we went to. What was really the point anyway to go to Westminster Abbey or the Big Ben if we don't really know what the hell these buildings are for, or at least why they were famous? Simply appreciating its beauty architect may not be enough but well...that is just my opinion.

I went to Paris last time and visited quite a lot of places in just a day but I don't really have a clue about what Sacre Cour really was, or the famous Notre Dame and the Arc the Triumph. I know... the Notre Dame was in the film 'Hunchback..' with the esmeralda and all those cartoon characters. The statues come to life. But it would be great to know more than that!

And in a week from now, I will be going to Italy and I DON'T really KNOW about the places that I would be visiting. :( which was why I need to go to the library and read up at least some of the places. I would be visiting Colloseum, Roman Forum, Circus Maximus, Palatine Hall, St. Peter's Basilica to name a few. Going to read them up, that is if time allows.

p.s. I know where Shrewsbury Castle and museum was. They happen to be just beside a road on the way to the train station and across the Shrewsbury library. would visit them someday.

London (13-15th March 2009)

In Manchester (8th March 2009)

France (during my half term break)

Is everybody lucky?

How do you define lucky? Is it subjective? Luck is a noun and to make it an adjective, you simply add y at the end. Opps. I am making a fool of myself, you surely know what is luck.

But then when you are faced with real life situation, sometimes you tend to wonder whether you are lucky or not. There are times when I feel like shit and then someone says, ‘you are lucky’. Sometimes I would like to say, ‘oh no, you don’t know me. You don’t know anything about me.’ But I stop and think, and perhaps you are right that I am lucky. If only I see what you are seeing.

Truthfully, there are things that just simply balance the luckiness that you don’t really feel lucky. You get me? Say you have this gift from a friend, you know, the thing that you really want and you HAVE it. You feel lucky and on top of the world kind of feeling. But you feel like you are falling because there are other unrelated bad things happening to you and you unconsciously weigh up your luck and you are back to square one.

Until you start to recall and remember every little good things that happen to you. Again, you feel good and happy.

What you need is to recall the good times and feeling optimist. I have my bad sides. There are weaknesses I possess. sometimes I feel the world is against me. But now……
I am the luckiest person in the world. Maybe I won’t be able to have that or that or that or that. But I have this and this and this and this.

And I am grateful.

p.s. I will post up some photos when I went to London during my non-exeat weekend, soon. That is if school intranet won't be such a bitch like last time.

oh oh

One day I will try to read stuffs about Darwin. I mean, have you ever wonder how he could come up with the theory of survival of the fittest? Could it possibly he thought school life was hard and that only the one who is the ablest among all will survive? Haha~

Anyway I have been exposed to a bit about this ‘medieval’ town called Shrewsbury. I went to Mr. Vincent’s house and he showed me the Shrewsbury map and books about it with pictures. And I was thinking, before I left this school I must visit all of these places! One day I will try to visit the Shrewsbury Castle (which I have no clue where), Shrewsbury museum, look for Darwin’s house and also go into Shrewsbury Library (which used to be the site for Shrewsbury School prior to the 18th century). And also explore the town and learn its history.

Life is generally okay. Tomorrow coach weekend starts and I will be going to London. Silly of me, I bought a ticket to Manchester on Sunday (overall tickets cost me 50ish quid) and I am now not sure of going there. So any friends out there who actually plan to watch the Brumanch talent time please tell me! The tagboard on your left is provided in case you have low credit, and allergies to mobile phones and PDAs. Or if you don’t want to go and watch the talent time, would you like to go to Manchester and just go and look around for fun? or else, I might have to buy a new ticket back to Shrewsbury and I don't want to!

welcome to my life

It is now hard. I know it has always been hard. How can it not be hard? Do I need to tell you why it is hard? From the thing we watch in TV to people we see around us… you have many reasons to know why it is hard…but you don't know when i think it is hard. You may not know it when I sit down. You may not know it when I am standing right in front of you. I would not like you to notice it. Who knows how uncomfortable you will be? Who knows you may enjoy it and makes me miserable? Who knows… I think nobody knows. Only I know it is hard.

Uh, no. let us not compare who has it harder and who has miraculously make it gone or who ‘help’ it make it gone and give you the best time ever. I don’t care what you think of me whether the reason for it to become hard may be eccentric. I don’t care if you think I think it is hard for a very long time even for days. I don’t care if you think yours is longer than mine… I don’t care…

Wait… Maybe it is not always hard, you know? Maybe it is all in the mind… maybe we should handle it carefully…like not being tensed all the time… always be cool and happy… do you think it will make it less hard? Do you think the thing we see on TV will still have an effect on it? Do you think you can make the hardness go away? Oh the feeling…is just…unbelievable….

Uh wait… do you actually know what I am talking about? HAHA. Boo you, no not my thing. Not right now, anyway.

I am talking about life.

Welcome to my life where I make it humorous and miserable at the same time. :)
